Waukegan is in Illinois, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Waukegan follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. While visiting Chicago, I stopped by a buffet restaurant called Hunan Buffet near my hotel for a change of pace. I was pleasantly surprised by the variety and quality of the food. In addition to a great selection of Chinese dishes, they also served oysters, turbot, and other premium seafood items that you don't usually expect to find at a buffet. The restaurant even has a Japanese ramen station. While the ramen was fairly average, it was still a nice option to have. Overall, I was very satisfied with my dining experience. The food selection was impressive, the quality exceeded my expectations, and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a buffet with plenty of variety while visiting Chicago.

I like that its all you can eat, but the selection is very small compared to other all you can eat restaurants I've been to. There's more seating than anything and the food is or hit or miss. Ive noticed the best times to eat there are when they first open, thats when their food selections are the freshest. My last 2 times of being there, the floors around the food bars were sticky and a lot of the dishes still had food on them, especially the plates. I think they would benefit more if they took away some of the seating, added more food bars, maybe like one or two more, and maybe upgrade their dishwasher or at the very least run the dishes through another time and checking to make sure that there is no more food residue before putting the plates back on the bars.

Servers aren’t enough on friday night.I understand they did the best as they can. Some of food is bland some of fried food is still halfway cooked (shrimp garlic, fried caramari just a few pieces The coating is a bit doughy.I think it’s underdone.) Maybe I came wrong time they look busy. Pumping out the food.I like fish no smell, fresh.Desserts look good I’ll try next time.Good for quick meals.

I’ve been to many places, but I especially liked it here. Some people come to the buffet and have to pay at the entrance right away. I was looking for a place where I could go with my relatives, and I chose this one at random. When I arrived and walked in, I found out that here you can pay either at the end or right away—whichever you prefer. In other places, they don’t immediately bring out fresh hot food—it takes some time, even if there’s not much left or if the food has gone cold. But here, hot food is constantly available. If a dish is supposed to be cold, the staff keep refreshing it so that the trays are never empty. I was pleasantly surprised that even close to closing time, everything is still fully stocked, and they continue cooking right up until the end. In other places, they stop cooking and don’t refill the food because they assume few people will come near closing time. But here, people can come whenever it’s convenient for them without worrying that the kitchen will stop preparing food or that the food will be cold. The staff are friendly—especially the woman who took my payment. She often came over when I needed something or had a question. The price is reasonab

Honestly, I would not go again. Everyone in my party developed stomach pain after eating the food. The chicken and fish were dry and felt uncooked fully. The pasties and treats tasted like they were reheated or taken out of the fridge. However, the garlic bread tasted delicious and the jelly was sweet. Update, 06/04/2026. I went here today and I have no complaints. The food was good quality and the employees continuously cooked new food when there were low portions.
